3 Sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah—three born to him from the daughter of Shua the Canaanite. And Er, Judah's firstborn, was evil in the eyes of the LORD, and he caused him to die. 4 Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Perez and Zerah; all the sons of Judah were five. 5 The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. 6 The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara; five in all. 7 The sons of Carmi: Achan, the troubler of Israel, who was unfaithful in the ban. 8 The sons of Ethan: Azariah. 9 The sons of Hezron who were born to him were Ram and Caleb. 10 Ram fathered Amminadab, and Amminadab fathered Nahshon, prince of the sons of Judah. 11 Nahshon fathered Salma, and Salma fathered Boaz. 12 Obed fathered Jesse. 13 Abishai fathered his firstborn, Eliab, Abinadab the second, and Shimea the third. 14 Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth. 15 Ozem the sixth, David the seventh. 16 Their sisters: Zeruiah and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel—three. 17 Abigail bore Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite. 18 Caleb son of Hezron fathered Azubah (a woman) and Yerioth, and these were his sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. 19 Azubah died, and Caleb took Ephrath to be his wife, and she bore Hur to him. 20 Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered Bezalel. 21 Afterward Hezron came to the daughter of Machir, the father of Gilead, and he took her. He was sixty years old, and she bore Segub to him. 22 Segub fathered Jair, and he had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead. 23 Geshur and Aram took Havvoth-jair from them, along with Kenath and its villages—sixty cities. All these were sons of Machir, father of Gilead. 24 After Hezron's death in Caleb Ephrathah, Abijah, Hezron's wife, bore him Ashhur, the father of Tekoa. 25 The sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron, were Ram, Bunah, Oren, Ezem, and Ahijah. 26 Jerahmeel had another wife named Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. 27 The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were Maaz, Jamin, and Akar. 28 The sons of Jerahmeel: Shema and Jada. The sons of Shema: Nadab and Abishur. 29 Abishur's wife was Abihail, and she bore him Ahban and Molid. 30 The sons of Nadab were Seled and Appaim, but Seled died without having any sons. 31 The sons of Apaim: Yisheyi. The sons of Yisheyi: Sheshan. The sons of Sheshan: Achlai. 32 The sons of Yadaʿ, the brother of Shami—Yeter and Jonathan—and Yeter died with no sons. 33 The sons of Jonathan were Pelat and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel. 34 Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had an Egyptian servant whose name was Jarha. 35 Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as a wife, and she bore Attai to him. 36 Atti bore Nathan, and Nathan fathered Zabad. 37 Zabad fathered Aphel, and Aphel fathered Obed. 38 Obad fathered Jehohanan, and Jehohanan fathered Azariah. 39 Azariah fathered Chelz, and Chelz fathered Eleasah. 40 Eleasah fathered Sesmi, and Sesmi fathered Shelom. 41 Shalom fathered Yekamiah, and Yekamiah fathered Elishama. 42 The sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn, the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron. 43 The sons of Hebron were Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema. 44 Shema fathered Raham, the father of Jarkeam, and Rekem fathered Shami. 45 Shimei's son was Maon, and Maon was the father of Beth-zur. 46 Ephah, Caleb's concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; and Haran fathered Gazez. 47 Judah's sons were Reaiah, Jotham, Gesham, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph. 48 Maacah, Caleb's concubine, bore Sheber and Tirzah. 49 She bore Shef, father of Madmannah; Sho'a, father of Machbena and father of Gibea; and the daughter of Caleb, Achsah. 50 These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, from Bethlehem: Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim. 51 Salmah, father of the house of Bethlehem; Hareph, father of the house of Gader. 52 Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim, had sons: Ra'ah and half of the Menuhoth. 53 The clans of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrite, the Puthite, the Shumathite, and the Mishraite—from these came the Tzarathite and the Eshtaolite. 54 Sons of Salma: Bethlehem the house of bread, Netophah, Atroth house of Joab, and half of the Manhathites the Zorite. 55 The families of the Sopherim who lived in Jabez—the Tiraathites, the Shimeathites, and the Suchathites—these are the Kenites who came from Hamath the father of the house of Rekab.
